We finally got Terrapin out for a long cruise! We headed south out of Solomon and spent three nights at anchor in Great Wicomico, Little Bay Antipoison Creek and East River/Mobjack Bay. Then we headed across the bay to Cape Charles for three nights were we dined, golfed and explored in our rental golf cart. After several nights of fine dining we headed north to anchor in Onancock Creek followed by two nights visiting my parents in Crisfield. Overall a great cruise!

We got Terrapin out again for an overnight adventure to St. Michaels. We have been wanting to check out the anchorage on San Domingo Creek for many years. We finally made it! What a beautiful spot. We dinghied into town and met up with friends for drinks and dinner. So much fun. We will definitely be back!
We motored south in light breeze 44 nautical miles to anchor in Mill Creek, Great Wicomico River, VA. We wanted to use the dinghy to explore the beaches and creeks of the wildlife refuge. It was gorgeous. Lots of natural shoreline. Simply a great spot on the bay. We will be back!
After many attempts I finally managed to get out for a WNR on board J 105 Smoke 'n Oakum. It was the last race of the season and we started in a dying breeze that crapped out to nothing. Luckily we withdrew and motored in before the abandonment, almost winning the race to the dock. It was hot but a beautiful night for dinner on the yacht club deck.
This weekend we invited Jeff's family and friends to come down for daysail a on Terrapin. Saturday we hosted Jeff's brother, sister-in-law and our niece and nephew. It was the fist sailing experience for the kids and boy did we have and adventure for them. It was a strong southerly and big waves. Madelyn loved the waves breaking over the bow on the ride across the bay. Like a water park ride! They did get a bit queezy after the turn downwind but all in all a fun day.
Sunday we had friends onboard for a much more civilized sail. Glad the rain held off!
no pics because we were too busy captaining!
The previous Sunday we put a scratch in the gelcoat on Terrapain (dang metal mooring buoy in our creek!) so we launched the old faithful Frankendinghy Achilles because she makes a great on the water repair platform. Friday night we took row to the Marine Museum to hear the concert. Saturday I washed the side of the boat in preparation for gel coat application. Good times!
We headed out for a weekend on Terrapin. We were hoping to go south to Virginia but the big waves and strong southerly said no way. So we turned around and had a great sail to our favorite anchorage on the Little Choptank. We even caught one Spanish Mackerel for dinner. Sunday morning we had a fun dinghy ride to the town of Madison. Sunday was a northerly so we had a fun sail home. We dogged a few thunderstorms along the way.
It was a light breeze weekend with lots of powerboat chop! Yay, Annapolis!
Saturday I won two of the four races in the ILCA 6 class. Sunday it was a long slog out to the race course in dying breeze and powerboat chop. I had a poor finish in the first race so just headed home.
We got Terrapin out for another weekend adventure. This time we motored 42 miles south to the Great Wicomico river in Virginia, near Reedville. It is once of our favorite anchorages on the bay. We had a hot motor south and caught two Spanish Mackerel (our first for the season!). Sunday we sailed home in a nice southerly, catching two more beautiful Spanish for dinner.
Terrapin is finally fixed and we had our first overnight in almost a year. We had a hot motor to the Little Choptank where we anchored in Hudson Creek and took a long dinghy cruise. Overnight it cooled off with some breeze and we had a nice downwind sail home.
