Today I went out for a little drive with a friend who is considering buying his first boat. The water was smooth as glass and it was a great afternoon. Prefect weather !

Today I took the catamaran out by myself for the first time, it was a nice breeze. I had a very hard time getting back to my pier. Once back home, I put it on the lift and thought everything was good. Someone a little while later, it fell off my lift and one of the pontoons cracked & shattered . So it's done for now, I don't know if I can repair it .

This was my first Governors cup race and it was a great experience. We left Friday around 7am, motored to Annapolis for lunch and then made our way to the start. The winds were very light at the start and it was like that for a few hours. It picked up slightly over night. I was able to sleep for about an hour over night. We arrived in St. Mary's City around 1030 am on Saturday. Joined in the festivities and had some nice relaxation time. We then made the drive back to our marina on Sunday, leaving around 7am and getting home around 11pm. I had a few turns at the helm which was pretty cool. We had heavy rain coming back home the last hour and very strong winds which made docking hard.
It was a great trip, we got 3rd place in our division. I'll see what next year brings !

Today two of my friends from the sailing team helped set up my small catamaran that has been sitting in my yard for several years. It didn't take long to get set up and then we pushed it into the water and went for a trial run. It was the first time I have been on one like that, and it was alot of fun. We were really moving at first, then on the way back the wind was tricky and we had some trouble getting back to the house. There are a few small adjustments to make and then it should be awesome to play around with.

Tonight I thought the winds would not be strong, and similar to the week prior where they cancelled the race. I was wrong, we had a good wind and were moving pretty well. About halfway through, I became very lightheaded and had to take a time out because I was not feeling well at all. This is the first time that has happened to me, hopefully the last. I have been in stronger wind before so I don't think it was the boat, but maybe a combo of very little sleep, very hot temp, and the boat movements. This will be my last race prior to the Gov. Cup, since I cant' make the others one this month.
