Today I took my dad out for lunch and then a sight seeing cruise around Middle River. It's been years since I've been in and out of some of the little coves off of Middle River and it was very nice to see some of the beautiful houses, We both really enjoyed it and the weather was awesome. Not many people out today that we passed, it was very calm.
Today I volunteered at the Downtown Sailing Center for an adaptive sailing event with the group equipment connections. I helped to check in participants and fit them with life jackets and then get them onto the boats. Once everyone was on board and out on the water, I was offered the chance to go out as well. I joined another person on a very small dinghy sailboat, a "Hansa Access 303 dinghy". It was a really cool little boat, we did not really have any wind today so we didn't do much sailing, but that litlle boat would be pretty awesome in a nice breeze. It was really cool to be sailing in the Inner Harbor, the view was great and we had a very nice time, just very hot when it was all over with. The particiapants all seemed to really enjoy the outing, some were first timers and some have been coming for years. I was impressed with thier skills.
Tonight the winds were suppose to be 5 knots, when we motored out to the river near the start, there were a good number of boats but no wind at all. They delayed the race a few minutes, then once it started, no one was moving forward. In fact we started moving backwards due to the tide. We actually put the anchor out so we didn't lose position. After 30 minutes, no one had even crossed the starting line so they called it. I've never experienced something like that before. The good part was we saw a dolphin on the way back to the marina !

Today I was off, so I went back out to the Island and relaxed a bit before the work week starts
Today I took some out of town family guest to a waterfront restaurant and then the Hart Miller Island for some swimming. Everyone had a great time

Tonight we joined RockCreek Sailing association for a joint series race. It was very cool because there were 18 boats combined. We had strong wind in the beginning but then it faded to almost nothing at the finish. It was a sight to see all the boats out tonight !
I went out today on Back River. The Marine unit stopped me from going much further due to police activity in the area, so I parked by Essex Sky park and had a nice afternoon.
Today we drove to Havre De Grace to take a deck tour of the Pride of Baltimore. It was a great trip and such a beautiful boat. I then went home and went out on my kayak for a little while.
