Today, I went out on Akimbo, with Tark and several others. We pumped out the holding tank and refueled the boat. It was nice being on the water, if even for a short time. When we returned to the DSC we removed sails and changed the oil on most of the DSC cruising fleet.

Today, we sailed on Sweet Dreams out to the Star Spangled Buoy and back, for the DSC Member Sail. Mary Ann, Peggy, and Alex (my son) were my crew. Winds were 10-15 mph. When we returned to the DSC, we did a little docking practice. It was a nice day!
Today, we sailed Sunrise for the DSC Cruising Halloween Fun Race. We had 5-10 mph wind. We finished in 2nd place (uncorrected) and 3rd place (corrected) in the PHRF race. Dorothy Gale placed 1st (as usual). Akimbo finished ~24 seconds behind us, but they beat us by only 8 seconds when handicap was added. It was another fun and challenging race!
This evening, we went on the monthly Full Moon Cruise. Winds were light, but we got to see the full moon. While sailing by Fort McHenry, we heard a call from an incoming container ship about a person in the water by the Key Bridge. We were too far away to render assistance. Fortunately, at least two other vessels (one tugboat and one fire boat) .
Today, I went out for a short sail on Sunrise for the Cruising Wednesday Member Sail. Albert, Mary Ann, Peggy, and Andrew were on board. We had a nice evening!
Today, we sailed Dorothy Gale for the DSC Crusing Sunday Funday Race. We had 15-20 mph wind, with gusts well over 20, so we double-reefed the main. We finished in 1st place in the PHRF race, as expected, with only 3 boats competing again. Sweet Dreems placed 2nd, and Akimbo finished last. It was a fun and challenging race!
Tonight, we had the End of Season Party for DSC Thursday Night Racing. Everyone had a great time. I noticed that Tark and Ali were doing skipper evaluations on Akimbo, so I hopped on board to join them and the candidates they were evaluating. It was a very nice night!
Today, we sailed Sweet Dreams for the DSC Crusing Sunday Funday Race. I had Fumin, Liang, Howard, and Will on board. We had ~15 mph wind, so the sailing was great. We were able to finish in 2nd place in the PHRF race, with only 3 boats competing. Dorothy Gale was #1 (as always). Akimbo finished ahead of us within 2 minutes, but we beat them after corrected time was calculated. It was a very close race!
This evening, I sailed on Sunrise with Jeanie, James, and Toni. We sailed beyond Fort McHenry. It was a lovely, calm evening. On our way back, we sailed into the Inner Harbor to enjoy a view of the city at night.
Today, I went out on Sunrise for the Cruising Wednesday Member Sail. The winds were fairly light but the evening was nice. It was a real pleasure sailing with Santosh, Jeanie, and Andrew!
