Today we sailed on Justin's Beneteau 351 today. A couple of weeks ago we only motored, but today we were able to do some real sailing. We had 10 people on board, so things were a bit tight! It was chilly, but windy enough to get in some good sailing.
Century Club: Dino Frangos
We got to go out on Justin's new (to him) Beneteau 351 (1997 model). There wasn't enough wind to sail, so we motored for around for a couple of hours. It's a very nice boat!
Today marks Day 100 on the water! I actually had a lot more days, but I couldn't count them.
We spent the afternoon decorating Akimbo for the Baltimore Parade of Lighted Boats. Ali, Jeanie, Anne, and Hicham did a great job with the decorations, given the constraints of doing this at the last minute. It was a very foggy day. It got foggiest around 4:30 pm, as we set off from the DSC to Anchorage Marina to line up. The parade itself was a lot of fun. We were second in line, and the crowds at Fell's Point and the Inner Harbor were very appreciative. We got a lot of compliments. We did two passes around the harbor and went to Anchorage Marina again for the post-parade awards. Although we didn't win anything, we had a great time and felt appreciated! Overall, it was a great day to wrap up #SpinSheet100 and officially join the Century Club.
I went out on Akimbo for a short cruise around the harbor with Mark and Jeanie. It was very chilly day. The wind was very light and there was some light rain. We couldn't sail, so we just motored to the Inner Harbor and Fort McHenry.
Today, I went on a short daysail on a J/22. The wind was decent and the weather was a bit chilly, but it was an enjoyable Black Friday sail!
Today, we went sailing on Akimbo again. The wind was great and weather was nice. It was another great day to be on the water!
Today, we went sailing on Akimbo for 3 hours. The wind was fairly strong (>15 mph), but at least it was sunny. It was a fun day to be on the water!
Today, James, my son Alex, and I sailed on a J/22 for about an hour. It was a pleasant, sunny afternoon, but it started getting chillier as the sun set. It was Alex's first time sailing on a J in quite some time, and he appeared to enjoy it!
Today was the first day of frostbite racing for the season. Cathy and another DSC member joined me. We participated in 3 races and finished roughly middle of the fleet for each. The weather was excellent, sunny and in the 60s. The wind was light, so that made racing challenging but fun!
Today was the perfect sailing day. Peggy, Tom, and I went out on a Sonar for ~3 hours and sailed almost to the Key Bridge. Winds were 5-10, it was mostly sunny, with temperatures in the 70s.
