Today, we sailed on Sweet Dreams out to Fort Carroll and back, for the DSC Member Sail. Winds were 15-20 mph, gusting to 25. Our trip out to Fort Carroll was quick, about an hour downwind, with jib only. Return trip took over 2 hours, since it was upwind and the gusts were strong, at times. It was the most challenging and fun sailing I've had in a while!

This evening, we sailed for a couple of hours on Sunrise. We joined the Parade of Sail in Baltimore, sailing into Baltimore Harbor, then out to Fort McHenry. It was fun being surrounded be such beautiful schooners!

Today we raced a J/22 in the 2023 Downtown Sailing Center Ya Gotta Regatta. Only 5 boats competed in the race. My teammates were Robert and Joe. We finished in last place, but still had fun! Afterward, we went to Little Havana to enjoy the post-race party.

Tonight was the final night of 2023 TNR. We raced near the DSC's docks, between Domino and Fell's Point. Winds were good, but shifty because of all the buildings around the harbor. We had 2 races, ending the season with a 3rd place finish in the last race.

After racing, I skippered a cruiser for our monthly Full Moon Cruise. We sailed to the Key Bridge and back, within 2 hours. We didn't see the moon, because of all the clouds, but it was still a nice evening to sail.

This evening we went out for a short sail on Sunrise (Beneteau) at the DSC. The winds were 10-15 mph, so we reefed to make it a more comfortable sail. We were back by sunset.

Another week of racing at the DSC... Today, we raced near the DSC's docks, between Domino and Harbor East. Winds were a bit patchy and shifty. We had 3 races, but the 2nd race was abandoned because there was a dramatic wind shift and the course had to be reset. We didn't do that great, but it was still good to be out there.

Today, I taught another 3-hour "Taste of Sailing" class. I took three prospective DSC members out. One lived near the DSC and the other two were a father and son from Bethesda. We had good wind and sailed beyond Fort McHenry. They enjoyed their first time sailing!

Today, we sailed "Sunrise" to Bodkin Creek for the day. We left the DSC before 9 am and returned before 8 pm. Dorothy Gale sailed along with us. She arrived and anchored at Bodkin first and we tied up alongside of her. Alex came along with me. Everyone had a great time swimming and SUPing!

Another interesting week of racing at the DSC... Today, winds were quite good, but our team struggled on the course. We brought Andrew on board to do foredeck, for the first time in months. I switched to pit position for the first time in years, while Justin did spinnaker. Tark, as usual, was at the helm. We made a number of mistakes because of the shifting of positions, but eventually we figured things out. Unfortunately, suboptimal crew performance and poor tactics/timing led us to have the worst finishes of the series. We finished 8th, 9th, and 9th.
