The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum (CBMM) has been selected to build a new Maryland Dove, a representation of the late 17th-century trading ship that accompanied the first European settlers to what is now Maryland. Maryland Dove is owned by the state of Maryland and operated and maintained by the Historic St. Mary’s City (HSMC) Commission.

The first annual Boat Maryland Week will run April 26 to May 5. The 10-day celebration will highlight the beginning of Maryland’s boating season and the state’s deeply-rooted ties to maritime history.
Keith Mayes and Emily Manders, owners of the Beneteau 36.7 Jubilee, have crew members who’ve been racing with them since 2003. The team has topped Herrington Harbour Sailing Association’s High Point results for 10 consecutive years.
