Let Boating Safety Be Your Number One Priority. We can never have enough refreshers on water safety, and with boating-related deaths this year already up from last year and the year before, we wanted to share a few simple things we can all do to make our time on the water safer.

Sailors don’t need too much arm-twisting to get them to agree to a trip to Charleston, SC, and they’re even more excited to contest the big event: Sperry Charleston Race Week 2019, set to unfold April 11-14. This year’s edition will be packed with Chesapeake talent with two dozen regional boats in the mix and still more Bay sailors crewing for others among the 264 entries. 

We talk so much about “fitting out” our boats for spring, but why not discuss prepping our bodies? Here are six areas they suggest sailors work on between now and that first April sailing day.
